Fair means real signs of wear are visible — small marks, light fading, slight pilling — and the seller should call them out specifically in the description. If a Fair listing doesn't mention what's wrong, that's a red flag worth a quick message to the seller before buying.
A quick word on sizing
Listings on Thrifted.mt show whatever size label was on the original garment — UK, EU, or US. Always check the measurements where the seller has provided them; brands run differently and a UK 10 in one label is closer to a UK 12 in another. If a listing only shows the label size and you're unsure, message the seller to ask for chest, waist, or length in centimetres before buying. Most sellers are happy to measure.

What happens if it's not as described
Every payment on Thrifted.mt is held in escrow by Stripe until the buyer confirms delivery. If the item doesn't match the listing — wrong size, undisclosed damage, photos didn't represent the actual condition — you have 48 hours after delivery confirmation to open a dispute. The funds stay frozen while we review. If the dispute is upheld, you get your money back; the seller doesn't.
How to spot a well-described listing
A well-described listing tells you what you're getting before you have to ask. Most disputes on Thrifted.mt come from listings that left out information the buyer needed — not from sellers being deceptive. Here's a quick five-point check before you commit:
- The brand is visible in at least one photo (logo, label, hardware) or stated in the description
- The size label is shown clearly in a photo (inner-collar tag, waistband, sole, etc.)
- Measurements are listed when the seller could reasonably take them — chest, waist, length, foot length
- The condition grade is supported by close-up photos of any wear, marks, or flaws called out in the description
- Materials are stated or shown via the care label
If a listing is missing two or more of these and the seller is asking a meaningful price, message them before buying. Most will fill in the gaps. The ones that don't are the ones to skip.
